French Bay Beach
A tucked-away west Auckland gem reached via the Titirangi Beach Zig Zag Track through regenerating native bush. French Bay is dog-friendly on the beach — let your pup splash in the calm waters while you enjoy the stunning harbour views. Dogs must be on-leash on the bush track; off-leash freedom begins at the sand.

Absolutely stunning. The bush walk down is beautiful and then the beach rewards you with calm water for the dogs to swim. Bit of a hike to get here but totally worth it.
Our labrador was in heaven — off the leash the moment we hit the sand. There's a freshwater stream too which she loved. Hidden and rarely crowded.
Lovely beach and a great walk through the bush to get there. Dogs need to be on-lead on the track but once you reach the beach it's off-leash. Parking is limited so arrive early.
