Magical place for a dog walk. Ancient native forest just 5 mins from the city. Dogs must stay on lead to protect the birdlife, but they love every sniff of this place.

My favourite Wellington walk with my dog. The stream section is beautiful and the 1.6km circular loop is perfect for 45 minutes. Keep dogs leashed — it's worth it.

World-class native forest right near the city. Free entry, always pristine. My dog goes absolutely wild with all the incredible smells. A must-visit.
