A peaceful coastal nature reserve on the eastern edge of Papamoa, the Wairakei Estuary is threaded with walking tracks through wetlands and mangroves. Dogs on leash are welcome on the formed paths, and the reserve is a superb spot for an early-morning birdwatching walk with your pup along the Bay of Plenty coastline.
